  • Our ‘SILO’ series of weatherproof load cells are manufactured in Australia using reliable strain gauge technology to provide sensors of world standard which not only meet, but exceed the specifications of your requirements.
  • Our self check load cell housings include a top and bottom flange plate allowing ease of installation to existing or new silos. The mounts are fully equipped to provide protection against wind shear, under load and overload conditions. The mounts are certified as complying with the structural steel standards.
  • Our instrumentation is Australian made and supported, providing you peace-of-mind that parts are readily available and that your instrumentation is servicable now and into the future.
  • We offer a complete range with essential features like full digital calibration, high level alarms and weatherproof housings. Our optional add-ons include low cost remote displays, modem access solutions and our own software monitoring package.

LEVEL WEIGHING VS PRECISION WEIGHING

LEVEL WEIGHING applications include purchasing against silo levels, silo empty discharge control and silo full alarms. This configuration achieves an accuracy of ±1-2% and resolutions of 1 part in 500. A single load cell assembly is installed under one silo leg or support.
PRECISION WEIGHING applications include loss in weight batching systems, inventory and check weighing of supplied product. We can achieve an accuracy of ±0.1% and resolve weights to 1 part in 3000. A load cell assembly is installed under each support or leg of the silo.
Note: Some systems may be non-linear within the bottom 5% of the silo. Good results are achieved by calibrating outside of this area of the silo.

SILO ACCURACIES

TYPE 1, ONE LOAD CELL, 3 STOOLS, ±2%

This system is accurate to within ±600kg on a 30 Tonne Silo installation. Instrument Calibration is 30t x 0.1t.

TYPE 2, TWO LOAD CELL, 2 STOOLS, ±2%

Although this has the same accuracy as Type 1, it is more reliable in time because it is less affected by load sharing between feet and changing loading patterns in the Silo. (This is our usual offer for virtually maintenance free level indication.)

TYPE 3, FOUR LOAD CELLS, ±0.1%

This system has an accuracy of ±30kg. Instrument Calibration is 30t x 0.01kg.

These accuracies are guaranteed. Our Silo Series Load cells are unique to the industry because they carry structurally certified design without de-ration of the load cell.
