Scales in waste-to-energy plants

According to the Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources, Australia recorded above the scale of 67 million tonnes of waste per annul during 2016-2017

Now on the verge of being widely developed around the world is waste to energy technology. Created due to the massive amount of waste generated by human consumption on a daily basis, waste to energy technology uses all these waste to generate electricity. According to the Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources, Australia recorded above the scale of 67 million tonnes of waste per annul during 2016-2017, around half of which is recycled. This is why modern facilities around the country are supported and encouraged by the government to recover energy from waste as long as they promise to result in a positive outcome for everyone, including the environment. These plants use waste from landfills to create energy from the combustion of solid waste. They convert the waste used after recycling into electricity which supports several homes and industries.

What Are The Advantages of Converting Waste to Energy?

  • This technology neutralizes the use of other energy sources which are non-renewable
  • This technique helps avoid emissions of methane, the result when waste is disposed to a landfill

How Do Waste To Energy Plants Work?

To make sure that energy recovery protects human health and the air quality around it, waste plants are required to practice only the most reliable demonstration while using the best resources.

Waste to energy technology consists of different types but perhaps the most popular is the mass-burn system. Another but less popular example is the one where MSW removes most of the noncombustible materials to produce refuse derived fuel (RDF). Even if there are several types of technology in generating energy, the process remains the same. This process consists of seven stages:

  1. After the waste is collected by garbage trucks, they are then dumped into a large pit.
  2. The waste will be dumped into a combustion chamber after they are grabbed by this huge claw on a crane.
  3. The burning process starts here. The waste or fuel is burned so that they can release heat.
  4. The heat produced turns water into steam in a boiler.
  5. This high-pressure steam then turns the blades of a generator to create electricity.
  6. Thanks to an air pollution control system, pollutants are removed from the combustion gas. After the pollutants are removed, they are released through a smoke stack.
  7. Lastly, ash is collected from the boiler and also from the air pollution control system.

Waste composition from different sources can be very different which is why input measurements, waste sources tracking and other processes require reliable equipment which can produce accurate measurement. Perhaps one of the most important ways to get the exact revenue from a facility are the gate fees.

This is another reason why it is extremely vital that the weighbridge you use in your facility provides accurate results, reliable measurements and can withstand the stress of your environment. Whatever your application, having the right weighbridge for your business is essential. Precise measurement on every truck transport is a necessity when it comes to the waste industry. If you have the correct equipment and machinery for waste management applications, you can accurately track waste collected, and monitor material recovery outputs and inputs.

Considering the kinds of substances and garbage materials that come in contact with garbage trucks and vehicles, it is highly advisable that the weighing scales be customized to prevent those harmful materials and wastes from destroying or harming your machinery and equipment. It is also important that waste collection scales are heavy-duty and can withstand harsh waste environments.

The AWE Group’s High-Quality Onboard Weighing Systems are also designed for Forklift Trucks to Skid Steers to Pallet Jacks and Trucks. We have Onboard Weighing Systems for operational efficiency and safety, complete with a choice of systems that offer varying accuracy, resolution and functionality.

Questions About Weighbridges?

weighbridge or truck scaling bridge they are known in US, we also providing weighbridge in Australia

Providing only the more advanced, reliable and most accurate waste management equipment, the AWE Group offers Crane Scales for sale and crane scales for hire. These crane scales give you the weight of an item while ensuring operators do not overload the crane or hoist. Weighing suspended heavy loads can be dangerous for your workers. To reduce these risks, crane scales are one of the safest equipment you can get.

Choosing a reliable and trustworthy manufacturer to install and maintain your weighing equipment is also a big factor. If you have trained professionals that you can call anytime of the day, you can avoid downtime and expensive emergency breakdowns.
