Rite-Weighs Weighing in Motion System consist of

• Weigh sensors - the hardware that weighs the vehicle. For your permanent installation we have used gx-1s series of sensors industrial range.
• Computer Interface - data acquisition electronics that convert the scale readings to real weight and sends the information to the computer. Our LCIB interface is used in both portable and permanent weighing in motion applications.
• PC Software - does calculations on the weight readings and stores the data. Same software for permanent and portable WIM sensors.

Weigh in motion scales are excellent for high traffic locations where vehicle speed is reduced to under 20km/h and accurate weighing needs to be done quickly, especially with the chain of responsibility. You can depend on Rite-weigh weigh in motion axle pads to deliver high accuracy results and have a very long life due to the rugged design. Permanent weigh in motion systems require a pit to be poured to mount the weighbridges into. 

Full Width System

This system comes in 2 separate pads but they are meant to butt together in the middle, making a full lane width pad. The advantage to these pads is that the vehicle driver cannot 'miss' the pads. They are forced to drive over the scale when installed in a lane. This system uses a total of 8 rigid mounts, heavy-duty loadcells, and have been proven to have very high accuracy, even with very low weights (such as a person driving a bicycle over the scale). Capacities range from 6 tonnes to 20 tonnes per pad.

The scale frames are first bolted together then suspended in the cutout. The first of 2 pours is to create the bottom of the pit. When this has cured, the second pour fills the outer portion of the cutout. The loadcells are then installed and wires run. The weighbridges are bolted onto the loadcells. The computer is then setup. That’s it.
