Advantages

• Capable of handling a great variety of bulk material, from sluggish to free flowing.
• Multiple inlet and discharge points are possible. Bulk materials can be conveyed and distributed to various locations as needed.  Slide gates or valves can be added to control the flow into and out of a screw conveyor.
• Compact design, can be squeezed into a tight spot. 
• Fully sealed structure ensures no dust leakage.  Can be assembled horizontally or any inclined position, depending on the product being conveyed.
• Screw conveyors can be used to cool, heat or dry products during the transit process.  Depending on the heat transfer requirements it can be jacketed, or given a hollow-flight design to allow the necessary heat transfer. 
• Screw conveyors can be designed to be vapour tight or to hold an internal pressure.  This has particular relevance for the chemical industry, for conveying toxic or hazardous products.
• Can provide an air lock between upstream and downstream equipment.
